The challenges facing children within the Kibera slum cannot be over emphasized. On a daily basis many of them are exposed to neglect, drug abuse, sexual abuse, lack of role models, and households where children are the head of the household.
With so many families just surviving below the poverty line it is no wonder the payment of school fees can be an impossible goal.

The Education sponsorship program is the backbone of the Mirror of Hope projects.
All Mirror of Hope sponsored students are carefully selected and are supported both financially & emotionally throughout their studies. All students are taught to give back to the community and as part of their sponsorship they must do six months of community service after they have completed high school.
