After himself being provided a secondary school education through someone else’s generosity, Tommy developed the belief that education is the only way to eradicate poverty. Tommy founded Mirror of Hope in 2010, having played every role along the way in growing the organization to what it is today. Tommy’s current focus is generating sponsorships to fund Mirror of Hope’s scholarships and programs.

‘Steve’ is one of the longest serving member of the team having joined the organization in 2013. Over this period, Steve has worked across all departments, having a profound impact in shaping what the organization is today. Steve keeps the organizations programs running day to day, whilst working to continually expand their reach and impact.

Silas performs the critical accounting function at Mirror of Hope, tasked with ensuring that project's budgets are effeciently and effectively utilized. Silas is renowned for his ability to account for every last cent.

Jacob is a full circle Mirror of Hope story, having been sponsored through to university by the organization and one of the longest serving members of our current staff. 'Jac' served as a volunteer in the organization since 2014 and now uses her long term experience to steer the Sponsorship dapartment. Kibera-bred, Jac hopes that his turnaround in life can be testament to the many children being supported that it is indeed possible to make a difference and break the cycle.

Inspired by her favorite quote, “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.” A social worker by profession, Evelyne is passionate about community work, especially working with the women and men of Kibera. Everlyne is a ‘veteran’ of the team, her smile and calming presence a hallmark of the Kibera office.

Born and raised in the slum of Kibera, Antony is passionate about making a lasting impact and giving back to the very community that raised him. Having graduated with a Bachelors in Project Planning and Management, Antony is passionate about working in impactful and sustainable making community project and he brings his wealth of knowledge and experience to the sponsorship team everyday with enthusiasm and a passion unmatched.

Mary is a passionate advocate for women’s leadership, meaningful engagement and economic empowerment. A social worker by profession, Mary loves empowering adolescent girls and young women to take up spaces, voice their opinions and influence policy through education. Mary’s philosophy is “nothing for us without us”, which is reflected in her active approach to social impact.

Purity, preferably called “Curie” is a Fashion and Design aficionado who has invested her work and efforts to teaching tailoring, fashion and design to young and teenage mothers in the Future Poa project at The Mirror of Hope. Fueled by her own experience as a young woman born and raised in Kibera, Curie uses both her personal experience and knowledge of art to inspire the young women beneficiaries into taking action and standing to be heard and seen in their different spaces.

Jacob joined Mirror of Hope in 2018 as a volunteer in the media department. With an education in Theatre Arts and Film Technology, Jacob helps connect Mirror of Hope with the world through photography and video.

Rael’s background in social work has fueled her biggest desire which she says is “to give someone hope for a better tomorrow”. Rael’s long-term serving as a volunteer together with her easy-going personality has helped her easily work across different departments at Mirror of Hope, recently having worked with the Future Poa project before transitioning to SILC.

Davis is full of energy and enthusiastic about what he does which makes him fit well and contribute to the young and youth-focused Future Poa department. Born and Kibera -bred, Davis dropped out of school at some point before he was given a lifeline once again to study Film Production in college, a course that has enabled him to double up as an assistant media personality at Mirror of Hope.
