Our Mission

Our Goal

We are dedicated to enhancing access to education and socio-economic empowerment opportunities for vulnerable children, youth and women living in Kibera slums, Nairobi, Kenya

Our Mission

Mirror of Hope is a Community Based Organisation dedicated to empowering vulnerable children and women living in Kibera Slum to transform and develop their capacity to contribute positively and earnestly towards their own development and ensure equal access to quality education, healthcare, food and shelter

Our Vision

Our vision is to create a community that is well informed, proactive, self-sustaining, respects human rights and where everyone has equal access to quality education, health care, food and shelter

Our Philosophy

Inspired by the well-known saying “Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime” Mirror of Hope is built on a foundation of giving a “hand up not a hand out” as a way of achieving its vision.

I could not believe how big the school was. I even got lost on the first day and on several other occasions. At one point I found myself in the principal’s office looking for the washrooms. However with time I got used to my new environment. I enjoyed all my subjects and having three meals a day was so nice. But it took sometime getting used to waking up so early”- Janet, 2020 form one sponsored student.

For nearly close to a decade, Mirror of Hope has mobilized funds and provided sponsorship with your help for over 700 children who would otherwise not be able to access educational opportunities.

Empower Girls and Women

I wish everyone had the chance to undergo the computer training. Personally apart from looking for a way to be independent in future, the training has given me a sense of responsibility and for me having something to do away from the slum for the next nine month is a huge relief”- Mary, computer student.
